For the first time in its long history, Brandauer can proudly announce that its dedication to engineering excellence now has a seal of approval from the highest official UK award for British businesses.
Brandauer secured the Queen’s Award for International Trade during the announcements in April and this blog will highlight why it wanted its story to be heard and what impact the award will potentially have on goals and growth plans.

In response to the continued uncertainty surrounding Brexit, being able to generate new export opportunities and open new doors has increased importance for Brandauer and its focus in trading internationally. The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade does just that.
There has been a lot of uncertainty with Brexit and falling demand in China, but that hasn’t stopped Brandauer actively targeting international business.
Export has been a major feature of Brandauer’s success. 85% of its £9.2 million annual sales is exported to international markets, half of which is direct from the Birmingham facility.
This year-on-year increase since 2015 has seen the business operate in more than 22 countries, including traditionally ‘hard to break’ territories of Israel, the USA, Saudi Arabia and Germany.
With the foundations in place and expertise already established for trading with international markets, the Queen’s Award is the icing on the cake for Brandauer. It is already encouraging even greater growth ambitions, particularly in the United States and through expansion into consumer markets.
As a company, Brandauer place significant emphasis on export growth. A vast majority of components are exported to customers overseas and Brandauer actively look for new markets to export to, committing to supporting and championing UK manufacturing.
