Big technical projects rely on small parts. To satisfy the needs of the most demanding manufacturers, Brandauer produce thousands of components a day, many of which are tiny and all of which are very, very precise.
But just how small? And just how precise? Watch the video and find out more about the fascinating world of the micron:
Thinner than a human hair
A micron is an extremely small unit of measurement – exactly one millionth of a meter. To give you an idea of just how small that is, a human hair is 50 microns thick. The machines in Brandauer’s factory are accurate to a tolerance of around 20 microns, and manufacture components of this precision 1.5 million times a day. That’s a lot of machines, making a lot of parts, with almost no room for error!
Components in high demand
Precision is especially important when it comes to small components, and some of the world’s emerging markets are reliant on companies like Brandauer producing these micron-accurate parts. Some of the most in-demand are Electrical Steel Laminations, which are used in the engines of electric cars. With our capacity for large quantities of small products, Brandauer are your reliable partners for ambitious projects.
